Unravel the colorful world of fiber arts in this hands-on, creative summer camp! Campers will explore the art of weaving and beyond, beginning with simple paper weaving to understand patterns and build confidence. We’ll then progress to creating beautiful loom tapestries, learning different types of weaves along the way.
For those who enjoy something a little different, we’ll introduce Kumihimo—a traditional Japanese braiding technique that’s fun, calming, and produces stunning results. Whether your child connects most with weaving or braiding, there’s something for every budding fiber artist!
Throughout the week, we’ll also explore the journey of fleece to yarn and learn about artists who work with fiber in creative and inspiring ways. Artists will come away with new skills, meaningful creations, and an appreciation for this timeless art form.
Registration for this schedule starts on 03/31/2025 and ends on 06/09/2025
Participants must be entering grades kindergarten to 12.
